Richard Hewitt

I was born in Belfast and grew up on the beautiful County Antrim coast. I didn't always dream of being a celebrant. In fact, when I left university in Ireland, I went on to graduate from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, going on to eventually become the commanding officer of an elite Parachute Regiment.  In the course of my military career I was involved in combat, negotiation and peace-support operations across the world. I developed the capacity for calm leadership and learned many lifelong lessons, the most important being that whatever the situation, it is your connection with people that matters.

 

These days, while I live a somewhat calmer life with my lovely family in the Nottinghamshire countryside, becoming a celebrant has allowed me to continue to serve others, and it is my honour to inspire confidence and provide guidance through life's most memorable events. I hold a deep belief in the importance of human connection, and aim to bring warmth, humour, compassion and joy to your most memorable days.
